Quick update on the Sparkle.io rebuild, and a change I made before we’ve even launched.

By Sam Darwin

Last week I said you’d pay when we book a meeting. I changed it. A booked meeting isn’t the same as a meeting that happens. People cancel. People don’t show up. And if you’ve been burned by outbound before, paying for a slot on your calendar that nobody turns up to feels exactly like the thing you were trying to get away from. So now you pay only for meetings that happen. Not when it’s booked. When it’s done. That raised the next question: what actually counts as a qualified meeting? Where we’ve landed: the person has to fit who you sell to (industry, role, company size, location, budget and timing), and they have to have actually shown interest in talking. Not a polite yes. We check that before anything goes on your calendar, because a meeting with someone who’s just being nice is still a wasted hour. It means we carry more of the risk. I think that’s the only way this works in a market where a lot of people have been burned at least once. Still plenty to figure out. But this one felt worth getting right before anyone pays us a dollar. If you’re curious, the waitlist is here 👉 https://sparkle.io/?utm_source=foundercommunity&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=joinwaitlist Question for everyone here: when you try something new, what makes you trust it enough to pay before you’ve seen it work?
