About
Consentaur is a cookie consent banner for small and mid-sized websites. You add one script tag. It scans your site for cookies, localStorage and sessionStorage, sorts what it finds into categories, and holds back analytics and marketing scripts, and embeds like YouTube and Google Maps, until the visitor agrees. Every choice is recorded with a consent ID the visitor can see in your cookie declaration. You can look it up and export the records as CSV on every plan, the free one included. The banner speaks 11 languages, has Google Consent Mode v2 built in, and runs on servers in the EU. There's a free plan (one site, 5,000 page views a month), paid plans from €6 a month, and a 14-day trial without a credit card.
Features
- Problem
- Tracking scripts can set cookies before a visitor has made a choice.
- How it works
- The script loads first, blocks assigned third-party scripts and releases them only after consent for the relevant category.
- Result
- Analytics, marketing and preference tracking can be held back until consent.
- Why
- Non-essential cookies require active consent under the ePrivacy Directive.
- Problem
- Businesses may not know which cookies their site uses.
- How it works
- Consentaur regularly performs HTTP and browser scans, matches cookies against a database of known cookies, and categorises them automatically.
- Result
- Teams can maintain a current, categorised cookie list and review newly found cookies.
- Why
- Cookie inventories change as sites and third-party services change.
- Problem
- Businesses need evidence that consent was obtained.
- How it works
- It logs each consent action, selected categories, consent version, language, device type and a random consent ID; records can be viewed or exported as CSV.
- Result
- Businesses retain consent documentation for 24 months.
- Why
- GDPR requires organisations to demonstrate consent.
- Problem
- Google tags need consent signals for European traffic.
- How it works
- Google Consent Mode v2 is configured as denied by default and updated automatically when visitors consent.
- Result
- Google tags can receive consent-state updates without separate Consent Mode setup.
- Why
- Google Analytics and Google Ads need category-appropriate consent signals.
- Problem
- Visitors need to make and later revise granular choices.
- How it works
- The banner offers Accept all, Reject all and category-level customisation, while a settings link or API can reopen choices.
- Result
- Visitors can reject or change optional-cookie choices at any time.
- Why
- Consent must be freely given, specific and withdrawable.
